    Abstract

The growth of electricity keep increasing from time to time in line with increased economic activities and welfare of the society. Electricity is one of our primary need. Thats why to convince consumer about quality of electricity, we need to monitor it. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a wireless network consisting of spatially distributed autonomous devices using sensors to cooperatively monitor physical phenomenon. For this final project, sensor node will sense voltage, current, frequency and power factor. To get the data, we use several sensors, these are voltage transformer, current transformer, zero crossing and exor gate to detect the difference of phase. All datas of electrical parameter of each node will be sent to the gateway by using RF modules. The gateway will connect to GPRS by using GPRS modem (sim300c) and then send packet data to the web database. Consumer can access the data by using their mobile phone to the available web that connected to the database. In that web, it will show the quality of electricity in accordance with the expected. So, it can convince consumer about quality of electricity that consumed during this time. Transmitting data using RF module can be reliable, because for sending 1000 datas, it only loses data less than 0.7 % from sent data. RF module is reliable to send data in distance, it can send data in distance 300 meters without losing data. The Output of sensors are good enough, because it change proportionally to the input of sensors. Keywords : Monitoring electricity, wireless communication, GPRS connection, database
