    Abstract

    Water supply monitoring the local water company is currently very necessary. In this case there are obstacles that are often encountered due to not using the automated system. Monitoring level measurements in the reservoir water level is still using the measuring line. In the Final Project has been designed gauges the level height using the application of ultrasonic waves. The system consists of transmitter equipment, ultrasonic receivers based microcontroller ATMEGA8535. Ultrasonic transmitters and receivers are directed to a cistern. Where the distance is proportional to the time of transmitting the transmitter to be accepted back by the receiver. Using a transmitting ultrasonic waves to determine the altitude so it does not have a harmful risk to humans. After testing, the distance measurement by ultrasonic sensors, the measurement error is relatively small distances of about 0.41%. And in implementation direction transducer transmitter and receiver must be perpendicular to the surface of the water. As well as for data transmission is done through the media without wires (wireless). For monitoring, it is used to connect the RS 232 Communication from the microcontroller to a Personal Computer (PC). Display monitoring data on the Personal Computer (PC) using Microsoft Visual Basic programming software. Test results microcontroller RS232 serial communication, the data transmission protocol to the PC in real time performed every 1 second of data per run properly.
