Abstract
Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) is the new technology in the telecommunications network. MPLS technology enables package in the system in a shorter time compared with ordinary IP network, because at each MPLS packet will belabeled then used as information for the switching process, replaces the IP header in routing process. This final project will discuss the convergence of VoIP and MPLS as a network backbone. This paper has tried designing a system using network testbed and software simulation using Network Simulator-2. The tests is to determine the performance for QoS in MPLS-based VoIP. In the implementation system, either using a testbed or simulation will be compared the performance of network using MPLS and without using MPLS. The parameters for data acquisition is delay, jitter, packet loss and throughput. The Results are expected from this project is to implement an VoIP with MPLS-based with simulation and testbed which were compared between both and get the QoS according to the criteria or standards that have been mentioned in the above in chapter literature review.
