    Abstract

    Some emphysema can influence lung capacities and volume, for example asthma or emphysema that happened by effect of decreasing air stream that enter to the lung. Respiration Signal can be used to know lung capacities and volume. Therefore, at this final project designed an appliance to know lung capacities and volume by using breeze appliance provided with MPX5100 strain gauge sensor. Strain gauge with MPX5100 series representing sensitive pressure sensor to low pressure, only with puff can influence voltage of output yielded. Change of yielded voltage will be strengthened with non-inverting Op-Amp and then integrated with PC exploit microcontroller ATmega16 as processor of analog to digital data. Data input of microcontroller packed into Visual Basic application program to be turned into signal/graph. This signal refined by using FIR filter to lessen noises and to clarify the signal. Its result is a signal that be able to be used to determine someone lung capacities and volume with error prosentase between 10.953% - 37.81% for normal/relax condition.
